Other Types of Immigration Benefits
Our office provides legal service for the following types of immigration matters:
Replace/Renew a Green Card: A Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) can apply to replace or renew their green card if it’s expired, lost, stolen, damaged, or if biographical information has changed.
Change of Status: Nonimmigrants can change to another status if they entered legally, the visa is still valid, and they haven’t committed crimes that affect eligibility.
Visa Extensions: Extensions may be granted if applied for before the current stay expires. Proof of ties to the home country, financial means, and intent to return is required.
Immigration Waivers: Waivers are available for those ineligible due to inadmissibility, unlawful presence, criminal convictions, or health issues. Types include I-601A, I-601, and I-212.
Appeals and Motions: If denied, you can file a Motion to Reopen or a Motion to Reconsider. You can also appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) within 30 days of the court's decision.
Request for Evidence (RFE): USCIS may ask for additional information before making a decision. A thorough response is required to avoid denial or permanent ban.
Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID): USCIS may issue a NOID if they believe evidence doesn’t support eligibility. A detailed response could result in approval.
Writ of Mandamus: Filed in federal court to compel USCIS to act on a delayed case. It’s used when a petition, like a green card or naturalization application, has been unreasonably delayed.
